SEPTEMBER NEWSLETTER



Junior Infants
A big welcome to the new junior infants, Caoimhe Canavan Thorpe, Jack Fortune and Orla McVeigh.

Welcome Fr. Quinn
We would like to extend a warm welcome to our new priest Fr. Quinn.

School Bags Blessing
Students are invited to bring their school bags to Mass on Sunday morning to have them blessed for the year ahead. Mass times are 9am in Bellevue and 11am in Galbally.

Uniform
Full school uniforms are to be worn every day and a navy or grey tracksuit for PE which will be held on a Monday.

Homework
It is important that homework is supervised every evening and homework diaries/sheets must be signed by a parent/guardian.

Road Safety
To ensure the safe arrival and collection of children, all students should be accompanied by an adult to and from school. For Health and Safety reasons, students must not be dropped at school before 9.25am.

After School Collection
Please let the school know by phone call or note if somebody other than a parent, guardian or grandparent is collecting your child.

Book Rental
Book Rental is now due:  Junior & Senior Infants €37
               1st & 2nd €38.50
               3rd – 6th €36.50

An Post Savings
An Post Savings will resume next Friday 16th.

Head Lice
Can all students be checked regularly for head lice. Please find attached a leaflet for your information.

GAA Coaching
Hurling coaching will resume on Monday September 12th. Please ensure students have all necessary gear in order to take part. Coaching will be for 1st class to 6th class.  Students in Junior and Senior Infants will have PE.

Legend of the Golden Dragon
On Wednesday October 12th the children will be attending a play in Galbally Hall @ 1.30. Legend of the Golden Dragon is packed full of comedy, intrigue, excitement and music and promises to be a very enjoyable production.

Be Active
Be Active ASAP will resume in the coming weeks. We hope to organise some after school coaching for the students.  We are continuing with our Walk on Wednesday initiative.

Parents Association
The Parents' Association will be holding their AGM in the coming weeks.  We would encourage as many parents/guardians to come to this meeting as it gives an insight into the running of the school. We are always looking for new members. You will not be automatically co-opted onto the committee; we would just be delighted to see you.  We will notify you of the date and time when it has been finalised.

Clothes Recycling
The Parents Association is hosting a recycling fundraiser on Friday 30th September. All donations would be greatly appreciated. Bags can be dropped to the school from Monday 26th.

Insurance
Insurance is due at a cost of €5.60 per student.
